more sunbeams

Okay, since the Sunbeam post has been a hit, I thought I would update...

Leader: "When we turn eight we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Can everyone say Holy Ghost?"
"GOALIE HOST!!!"

(Teddy Grahams are the snack of choice this day)
"Do Teddy Grahams have arms?"
S: "Yes they do, just like you!"
"Do Teddy Grahams have a belly button?"
S: "Yep, right there on his belly!"
"Do Teddy Grahams have a penis?"
S: "Uhhh..."

M: "Do you see the picture of Moses helping all the people? Heavenly Father helped Moses open the sea for all the people to walk through and get away from the bad guys. Can you see the water in the Red Sea -- it has an opening with people walking through."
"Oh, yes... but... that's not the Red Sea, that's the BLUE Sea."
M: "Oh yep, the color of the water is blue, but it's name is the Red Sea."
"But that's a BLUE Sea."
M: "You're right, that is the blue sea."

These kids crack us up every Sunday! They are so smart and funny. We have really loved our calling in Primary. It can be pretty draining trying to wrangle and keep the attention of these little ones, but it's worth it. We had one parent (who is also in Primary) tell a story about how she watched her little man in sharing time reach his arm up and put it on Steen's knee -- which was pretty high for this little dude. She said she was so grateful that he had a teacher that he felt comfortable enough with to show affection. Another parent told us that his little man did not like going to church at all (on Thursday he would start throwing a fit because Sunday was coming up), they would frequently miss class because he wouldn't do Nursery. Now he looks forward to going to his Primary Class every week and loves to talk about what he learns.
Ahh! It's so great to hear stuff like that, it feels like we're making a difference in teaching these little ones the really important stuff.
