lover's holiday weekend/monday answer no. 3

Nie asks on Blogher:
What are your Lover's Holiday Plans?

Since Valentines Day fell on a Monday, we decided it would be best to celebrate Friday night... which turned into an entire weekend. Husband and I get pretty competitive when it comes to gift-giving, but we decided to make this holiday a little different. We would spend this lover's holiday just basking in some mushy gushy happily spent together time. Unfortunately, husband put me to shame and ended up making a lovely Italian dinner for two on Fri.
Other V-weekend festivities included homemade theater, lotr for my first time ever!, heart-shaped everything, sleeping in on Saturday and Sunday, and strong intent to stick to our healthy eating plans - even though I'm convinced that calories don't exist in seasonal treats (I only had two sugar cookies and one Lindt hazelnut truffle).
As a little girl, I would dream about my future Valentine and all the wonderfully romantic things he'd do for me on lover's holiday... trips to Europe, diamond necklaces, or three or four dozen red roses.
Now I have a special Valentine and all he has to do is smile, call me "chunny", and I am hopelessly in love. We have fun together. He makes me happy. I am so in love with him. Happy V-Day to my favorite husband!
