the dog days are over

Friday was the last day of my first Field Experience.

Twas quite the journey, I can't believe how quickly the time passed. I was placed in a sixth grade class which had me shaking in my boots a short three weeks ago, because:
I remembered my sixth grade self. Talk about a pain in the butt.
They are smart and would totally recognize if I messed up.
and
Would-be encouragers and even bystanders told me to fear for my life.

Turns out all those worries were thrown out the window when I showed up wearing slacks and a tag and showed those wee ones what I was made of.

This, of course, was not a solo feat. I have many people to thank:

These awesome sixth graders were smart and witty and well behaved while I taught. They made this job easy.

(As previously mentioned) I worked everyday with the most fantastic field partner. Miss A kept me motivated and made me laugh every single day (and she provided me with pictures- thanks Britt!). It would not have been half as fun without her.
a harmless picture of our flower headbands turned unruly when we got the giggles.

And last, but not least, my family was the biggest support throughout this experience! Not only did my sweet husband let me take two and a half weeks WOP from Costco... he listened to my musings everyday, whether it was a good day of teaching or an exhausting one. My dear mother is also a saint for feeding me... but she does that all the time. What a saint! :)

This was such an amazing experience and I can't wait for all that lies ahead. For now, I'm counting down the days until this semester ends!
